Cold stratify seeds before planting. Soak in warm water before planting. Use a seed starting mix. Direct sow outdoors when the weather is warm. Do not cover with soil - pat gently in place. Plant in an area of indirect sun. Water daily - seeds will germinate in 7 - 20 days. Be patient - the plant can take 1-2 years to reach full bloom.

Hibiscus seeds
Seeds need to be cold stratified before use. After stratification, nick the hard coating or “scarify” before planting. Soaking the seeds in warm water for a few hours afterward will enhance germination. Sow 1/4” - 1/2” deep. Plant in an area of full sun or under grow lights. Keep soil moist but well draining. Seeds will germinate in 14 - 30 days.

Gladiolus bulbs are simple to manage in your home. Using a clear vase, place the bulb on a foundation to raise within the glass, this can be a small insert or rocks. Pour luke warm water upto the bottom of the bulb - barely touching the bulb. Put the vase in indirect sunlight and that is it! Keep water levels constant and watch it grow!
